It’s important to be mindful of the things we do that may hinder our chances of conception. Some of your everyday habits might be on our list of things to avoid for fertility.
Knowing what you need to avoid is just as important as knowing what you need to support your fertility.
On this episode of The Fertility Godmother’s Show on YouTube, Denise talked about some important factors to avoid while trying to conceive.
One of the first things to avoid for your fertility is soda. You may be surprised to learn that sodas actually deplete nutrients from your body. They draw essential nutrients from your cells and bones, hindering your ability to nourish your body and support a healthy pregnancy.
It’s best to steer clear of sodas and opt for healthier beverage choices instead.
Next on the list of things to avoid for fertility is smoking and excessive alcohol consumption.
These habits can have detrimental effects on fertility. Smoking can harm both egg quality and sperm health, reducing the chances of successful conception. Excessive alcohol intake can disrupt hormone balance and decrease fertility in both men and women. It’s best to quit smoking altogether and limit alcohol consumption when you’re trying to conceive.
These habits may be used to cope with stress and anxiety. However, there are healthier alternatives that can help you manage stress effectively.
Consider incorporating the alternatives into your routine:
- Exercise
- Meditation
- breathing exercises
- acupuncture
These practices have been shown to significantly reduce stress levels and promote overall well-being. Start small, and over time, you’ll notice the positive impact they have on your fertility journey.
Another thing to avoid (or at least limit) for fertility is caffeine. While moderate caffeine consumption is generally considered safe, excessive intake can have negative effects on fertility. Caffeine can interfere with hormone levels and reduce fertility in both men and women. Consider limiting your caffeine intake by opting for decaffeinated beverages or herbal teas instead.
Finally, exposure to environmental toxins, such as certain chemicals, pesticides, and heavy metals, can affect reproductive health. Limit your exposure to these substances by choosing organic foods, avoiding harmful cleaning products, and being cautious of workplace or household chemicals. Consider doing a gentle fertility cleanse to help rid your body of harmful toxins.
It’s important to note that optimizing your fertility may require some adjustments and lifestyle changes. While it may take time to find the right balance, these changes will greatly benefit your overall health and increase your chances of conceiving.
Remember, you’re not only optimizing your chances of getting pregnant but also giving your future baby the best start in life.
