If you have been diagnosed with – or suspect you may have – one of these common conditions that affect egg quality and ovulation, please know that our treatment plans have been effective for hundreds of women with these issues:
Ovulation Disorders
Ovulation Disorders are the most common reasons women struggle to become pregnant. Because no two cases are exactly alike, we will create a personalized treatment plan for your unique body and life.
In three to six months, we can help you achieve a healthy cycle of menstruation and ovulation even if you have not had a cycle for months. We can treat:
- Amenorrhea
- Anovulation
- Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
- Premature Ovarian Failure (POF)
- Premature Menopause
- Post-pill Amenorrhea
High Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH)
FSH is a reproductive hormone that communicates with the ovaries to produce follicular growth so a healthy egg can be released. High levels of FSH may indicate low ovarian reserve and reduce the chances of conception and/or success with IVF and IUI.
Symptoms associated with high FSH can include: hot flashes, night sweats, and/or vaginal dryness. In fact, it can feel like the early stages of menopause. FSH levels naturally rise with age, so advanced maternal age can play a role in high FSH.
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)
PCOS is a disorder affecting the hormones, ovaries, and eggs developing within the follicle. About 20 percent of women suffer from PCOS.
Symptoms of PCOS can include: irregular periods, late or absent ovulation, excessive facial and body hair, obesity (though many PCOS patients have a normal body mass index), skin thickness, and persistent acne.
While PCOS has no cure, conceiving is often possible even when PCOS exists. We have helped hundreds of women with PCOS conceive, using a combination of acupuncture, nutrition, massage, traditional Chinese medicine, and other therapies.
Premature Ovarian Failure (POF)
POF refers to the loss of ovarian function and estrogen production in women under the age of 40. Sometimes called premature menopause, POF can cause several health issues, as well.
Symptoms of POF may include: missed periods, hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia, mood swings, vaginal dryness, loss of energy, diminished libido, painful intercourse, and bladder control problems. Medication in addition to traditional Chinese medicine can offer hope to women with POF who wish to conceive.
